Communications agency Hill+Knowlton Strategies Spain announced today that Asier Ibarrondo will be joining its team as director of Content + Publishing. With his base in Madrid, his role will be to lead and consolidate the content offerings of the agency, reporting directly to Joan Ramon Vilamitjana, CEO of H+K Spain.
With Asier Ibarrondo on board, H+K bolsters its capabilities for producing and distributing content for its customers, a key ability in the transformation of the company towards an integrated communications model. To this end, Asier will work together with the creative team, led since last January by Arnau Vidal.
Throughout his career, Ibarrondo’s work has always been closely linked to content generation and digital environments. After a decade as a journalist in traditional media, Asier has led the development of digital projects with various perspectives: agency and enterprise.
Asier joins H+K from his role as general director for Coonic. Previously he had worked as accounts director for Repsol in Arista and, prior to that, he was Global Web Manager for Panda Security.
In Asier Ibarrondo’s words: “today, organizations have the opportunity to identify their various target audiences and communicate with them very personally. And all of this is achievable, in no small way, through the generation and targeted publishing of useful content that brings value to the reader”.
Joan Ramon Vilamitjana, CEO for H+K Spain, adds: “we are several years into our transformation of H+K in an effort to expand our traditional services by adding the capabilities that our clients demand to cover new needs, the field of content strategies is such an example. By welcoming Asier to our team, we gain his expertise, that is difficult to match and that will allow us to accelerate this transformation toward an integrated model”.
Asier Ibarrondo holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and Media Science by the Universidad del País Vasco, in which he majored in advertising. He also has a Master’s of Administration and Development of Media Businesses, by the UPV/EHU. Ibarrondo is the president of Dircom’s delegation for the North of Spain, from where he supports all professionals in the Basque Autonomous Community, Rioja, Navarre and Cantabria.
